Merchant's balance
The system allows you to view and correct the current state of the merchant's balance.
Balance details are indicated in the default currency of the payment service provider. Amounts used to calculate indicators in other currencies are converted to the base currency at the OpenExchange rate on the date the transaction is processed.
To get the balance service enabled, you should specify the default currency in the settings of the payment service provider. For more information, see System Settings.
The merchant's balance resembles a classic balance sheet that includes the following:
A header in the format “Balance <the amount and currency of the merchant's balance>
Payable <amount and currency>”;
Date, Debit, and Credit columns.
The amount of the merchant's balance displayed in the sheet header is the current state of the merchant's account in the default currency of the payment service provider. It is calculated by the formula (Sum of all adjustments in the Credit column - Sum of all adjustments in the Debit column).
The Debit column displays funds transfers from the payment service provider to the merchant.
The Credit column displays the additional fees that the payment service provider takes from the merchant.
Credit can contain 2 types of adjustments:
- Manual adjustments: usually represent additional fees the PSP charges the merchant, usually negative ones.
- Automatic:
- Carryover balance: the amount of the balance from the previous month;
- Gross proceeds: the Pay_to_merchant amount due to the merchant for all financial statements generated for the reporting day and converted to the default currency of the payment service provider.
- Daily dynamic balance: the amount due to the merchant for the current day, i.e. a total amount of Pay_to_merchant from all daily transactions in the default currency.
For your convenience, the page uses a color indication for each entry:
|
