Overall service description

The Smart Routing service is a web-application that automatically processes the parameters of incoming transactions and checks them across the rules set by users for the accounts of the payment service provider, merchants, shops and mobile applications.

In the service, the user creates rules based on the “if …, then …” logical link, which determines the conditions and the result of the check.

When setting the conditions, the user can specify fields, logical operators, and applicable field values and their sets. As for the fields, they can stand for both transaction parameters used by the payment processing system (for example, a payment currency) and additional parameters created and defined by the user (for example, the total amount of payments processed for the current month).

The result of the check can be the following:

  • An action as an instruction to the payment processing system on what to do with a transaction (for example, to reject a payment).

  • An object or a group of objects as an instruction on where to send the transaction for further processing (for example, the payment gateway of the merchant’s acquiring bank).

Service rules are set for specific accounts. At the same time, the service maintains a hierarchy of the account levels. The rules applied at the level of the parent account apply to the child ones (for example, the rules set at the merchant level apply to all merchant shops).

The service allows setting multiple rules for an account and group them by the result of the check into flows. Besides, the user can manage the order according to which rules and flows are applicable to transactions.

*Note:

Smart Routing is currently integrated into the beGateway payment processing system developed by eComCharge LLC. It is not yet provided as a stand-alone product. This manual gives the description of interaction with the user interface with regard to the following:

  • Accounts in the Smart Routing service are the account of the payment service provider, as well as the accounts of merchants and shops registered in the system of this payment service provider, for which the service has been activated.

  • Objects in the settings are the payment gateways of acquiring banks and processors that are added to merchants' shops in the system of the payment service provider, regardless of their status. The object ID stands for the gateway ID in the system.

  • Aggregated fields are the request parameters of incoming transactions processed and transmitted to the processing network by the beGateway system.
