Manage flows

In the Smart Routing service, a flow is a group of rules for which the same result of the check is applicable. Each rule used in the service to check and route transactions must necessarily belong to a flow.

There are 2 types of flows and rules:
  • Action: After checking transactions against the flow of this type, the Smart Routing service instructs the payment processing system to perform a certain action (for example, to reject a transaction).

  • Object: After checking transactions against the flow of this type, the Smart Routing service routes a transaction to a certain object or a group of objects for further processing (for example, to the gateway of the required acquiring bank). Available for the lowest account level only.

For an object flow, the service supports 2 methods of transaction processing:
  • Sequential: It is a cascading processing method when you can determine the order that the objects of the group should follow while standing ready in a queue to process a transaction.

  • Random: It is a processing method when the system will try to get a transaction processed successfully via an object chosen by chance.

The main window of the Smart Routing menu tab shows the list of accounts of the payment service provider, merchants, and their shops as well as applicable flows and rules.
