Such a transaction routing service allows payment service providers and merchants to do the following:

• Apply a flexible approach to payment processing based on the cost and conditions of acquiring services offered by different providers and banks.

• Reduce the costs associated with processing fraudulent and high-risk transactions.

• Distribute the load when processing transactions, take into account possible restrictions on the number or amount of transactions processed by the acquirer for a certain period, etc.

• Apply transaction processing rules at different levels: at the level of a payment service provider, a merchant, or a shop.
